Vestigium

(2015)

Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), Bogotá

Photographs by Juan Cuadros

In April of 2015, a group of 25 women donated  to me an underwear garment that had a special mark or memory for them. Along with the garment, I collected a written story from each participant about the memories behind the object. Each donated garment was used as a relief matrix and was printed on transluscent fabric.

Vestigium is an installation consisted of different printed layers of fabric in an intimate space, where which viewers were able to walk through. This project explores the act of leaving marks on other's body and how objects are indexes to human experiences, and the setting of the installation worked as an analogy of memory.
